Color and shade variations are sometimes extreme, and may differ from tile samples. An example of color variation is seen on the parsley tile. The French vanilla tile shows an example of shade variations.

The surface of handcrafted tile is rarely flat and vary slightly in thickness. Other imperfections such as puddles of glaze in depression are other characteristics of our tile.

Efflorescence, which describes the growth of salt crystals due to evaporation of salt laden water, and surface pops resulting from concentrated lime that pop off the tile, are both characteristics of handcrafted tiles.

• Our Handcrafted clay tile is approximately 4 by 4 inches. There are no 2 tiles exactly alike. We use this tile because of the beauty of the imperfections.

Crazing and crackling are inherent characteristics of our handcrafted tiles.

Because the Terracotta tile is a natural unpainted, glazed clay tile, it shows the imperfections of crackling and crazing immediately. The other tiles that we offer are all hand painted and will develop crackling and crazing over a period of time. Terracotta closeup

The Terracotta tile is available on all tables. For placing an order with the terracotta tile option on any table other than the hunter green, please call our gallery at (360) 756-0000.
